Our peculiaritiesFeatures
Viticulture
Viticulture in Trapani province became the prevailing form of cultivation around 1773, when the English merchant John Woodhouse, native from Liverpool, opened a winery in Marsala developing the wine trade. The Marsala wine, thanks to which the city is famous all over the world, was produced for the first time by this gentleman, who, during a stormy night, having to repair his boat in the Marsala port, had the opportunity to taste the wine produced by local farmers. Finding it similar to the Port, he decided to trade it.
Production
Nowadays the winery has about a thousand members who each year confer more than 300,000 quintals of high quality grapes. All vineyards are cultivated with traditional techniques. Also the harvest is still done manually. Due the particular soil and climatic conditions, our land creates unique products for their organoleptic characteristics.
Processing
Every phase of all our processing are guaranteed by a traceability protocol that covers the entire chain, from the preparation of the vines, to the fertilization of the soil, from pruning to harvesting, up to the conferment in the cellar, where the grapes are processed according to strict procedural standards and cutting-edge technologies.
Our rootsHistory, Experience
Our objective is to respect and protect this area, enhancing it through our passionate, our dedication to produce excellent wines respecting the centuries-old tradition of this land.
