Founded in 1960 by the passion of ten growers deeply tied to the land, the cooperative has been able to enhance and renew the winemaking heritage of the Sicans, Phoenicians, Elymians, Arabs and Normans, peoples who have enriched these lands over the centuries.

Excellence
Cantine Birgi is the fruit of the passion and commitment of about a thousand contributing members, who bring more than 300,000 quintals of grapes to the winery each year. These precious fruits come from selected vineyards, carefully cultivated through two complementary systems: the traditional "alberello" technique, which guarantees excellent grape quality, and modern mechanized espaliers, which optimize yield and vineyard management. Each plot, thanks to its unique exposure, soil and microclimate, gives grapes with extraordinary organoleptic characteristics, enhancing the peculiarities of each variety.
The arrival at the winery marks the most delicate moment: here the grapes are processed with state-of-the-art technology and under strict procedural standards to preserve intact the aromas and flavors of the terroir. It is at this stage that the ritual of winemaking takes place, an art that captures the quintessence of the terroir: the warmth of the sun, the freshness of the sea and the intensity of the Sicilian soil are transformed into wines with a unique character.
